Release Train Engineer (SAFe) – Automotive

About the role

Our client, a company within the automotive industry, is looking for an experienced Release Train Engineer to lead and coordinate a large-scale Agile Release Train in a complex development environment. As servant leader and facilitator, you will ensure collaboration, alignment and delivery across multiple cross-functional teams, stakeholders and technical domains, and help create predictability, transparency and continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

    Facilitate PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt workshops, ART Syncs and other SAFe ceremonies
    Coordinate dependencies, risks and impediments across teams
    Work closely with Product Management, Product Owners, System Architects, Engineering Managers and business stakeholders to connect strategic objectives with execution
    Coach teams and stakeholders in Lean-Agile practices
    Support the achievement of Program Increment objectives and drive continuous improvement across the ART
    Monitor and improve performance through metrics on predictability, flow, quality and lead time
    Foster an environment where engineering, product and business functions collaborate effectively

Required skills and experience

    Proven experience as a Release Train Engineer, Senior Scrum Master, Agile Coach or Program Manager
    Strong knowledge of SAFe, Lean-Agile principles and large-scale agile delivery
    Background from automotive, manufacturing, embedded software or other complex engineering environments
    Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
    Experience facilitating large planning events and coordinating multiple development teams
    Strong leadership skills with a servant leadership mindset
    SAFe RTE certification (highly desirable)

Meriting experience

    Automotive R&D, connected vehicles, embedded systems, digital products or software-intensive product development
    Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Kendis, Miro or similar collaboration and planning tools
    Experience in global and distributed development organizations
    Experience from transformation initiatives within large-scale Agile frameworks
